Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Google Play Console closed testing rules and Test Arena operations.
Why does Google require 20 testers for 14 continuous days?
Google mandates that new personal developer accounts conduct closed testing with at least 20 real testers opted in for 14 continuous days to ensure application stability, performance, and compliance before production access is unlocked.
How does the economy and point balance work?
You earn 1 point for every 60-second test completed. Points mature from Pending to Available on your next daily check-in. Publishing your own app costs 1 Available Point per tester slot (e.g. 20 points for 20 testers).
Why is there an audio alarm at 60 seconds?
A continuous background audio keep-alive stream prevents mobile operating systems from sleeping the browser while you test. At exactly 60 seconds, a loud chime sounds, notifying you to return and answer the verification question.
What happens if a tester stops testing my app?
If a tester is inactive for 48 hours, our database auto-pause trigger reclaims their slot and returns it to the public explore feed so an active tester immediately replaces them, saving your streak.
Is Test Arena really 100% free?
Yes. There are no paid tiers, no advertisements, and points cannot be purchased with real money. Voluntary donations strictly cover domain renewals and database hosting.
Can I report fake or spam bug reports?
Yes. App owners can click 'Report Fake Bug'. The case enters the Supervisor Dispute Queue. If confirmed fake, the tester loses their bonus point and receives a trust penalty strike.
How do I add the community to my Google Play Console?
In Google Play Console, go to Release -> Testing -> Closed testing -> Testers tab -> Select 'Google Groups' and enter: lenbd-app-testers@googlegroups.com, then save changes.
What should I include in a useful bug report?
Describe the steps to reproduce the issue, what you expected, and what actually happened. Include your device and Android version when relevant, but never share passwords or private account details.
